The Government is getting increasingly serious about raising the standard of English and Maths - and so are we.
For many who struggle with English and Maths, the very mention of these words can seem intimidating but, for us, it's all about ensuring we have really good teachers who can enthuse students.
For this reason, our lecturers are trained to a high level to ensure our students become as good at English and Maths as they are in the job-related skills which we teach here at Central Bedfordshire College.
The message to potential students and their parents is that they can feel confident that, if they haven't yet achieved GCSE grades A*-C in these subjects, we will help them get to that standard. It is now mandatory for colleges to get vocational students to this level.
Almost all of our teaching staff have been through the required training in recognition of the Government's latest drive in this area.
We're also very careful to make sure nobody is left behind if they need extra help with English and Maths. We very carefully monitor the progress of each individual student and have clear procedures to help anyone who might be struggling.
