Admission to the course is by interview either face to face or by phone; you will need the AAT Level 3 Diploma or an equivalent Accounting qualification and preferably be working in an accounting or finance environment
AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) is a national suite of qualifications recognised by employers across the country. AAT students are valued for their determination and independent study skills. Completion of Level 4 will entitle you to Affiliate Membership of AAT, and you can put the letter MAAT after your name. If you have relevant work experience, you can qualify for AAT full professional membership. You will gain the skills you need to become a financial team leader or set up your own practice. Youll cover statements for limited companies and complex management accounting tasks as well as business tax, external auditing and credit control.
Who is the course suitable for?
This course is suitable for people wishing to develop their career to professional level. You will need the motivation and commitment to complete preparation for an exam at the end of the course
You will study the following units: Financial Statements; Budgeting; Financial Performance; Internal Control and Accounting Systems; Personal Tax; Credit Control
How will the course be taught?
Learning methods include lectures, classroom based learning, research using the internet, group work, discussion and individual written work. Lessons are planned to take the learning needs of each individual into account. There is an on-line exam at the end of each unit.
How will I know how well I am doing?
You will work through assessments regularly so that you and your tutor can check your progress and go over any topics you are finding difficult. There will be practice exams before you sit the formal examination itself.
We can arrange Additional Learning Support to meet any individual needs you may have, and, if appropriate, make special arrangements for the exam. We will discuss this with you at interview.
Are there any additional costs?
There are very few additional course costs for learners beyond the fee. You will need basic stationery, and a good USB stick and a good calculator. We have an excellent library and good IT facilities at college.

The fee for this course is £2,300. It includes assessment, registration/renewal with AAT, the Awarding Body. You may be able to take out an Advanced Learning Loan to cover the fee. We will discuss this with you at interview.
