What will I learn?
The Level 1 in Creative Media acts as an introduction to a wide range of roles and opportunities for study in more specialist fields. We cover both the technical and creative aspects of script writing and production.
This is a wide scope media course that allows you to develop skills in a wide range of different fields of creative media production. The units include video production, radio and sound or journalism and print. You will try your hand at advertising, fiction production and music video projects as well as photography and news development.
How will I learn?
You will be taught through a series of themed units that will allow you to choose your method of response. The course is very focused on individual need and direction and you will have a great deal of input into the method of learning you prefer with a tutorial based approach to the subject matter in most cases.

UAL Level 1 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology

The course is a Level 1 Diploma.
How will I be assessed?
The course is 100% coursework assessed through a series of assignments with ongoing assessments throughout the year.
What are the entry requirements?
You should have 4 GCSE level or equivalent and a basic literacy and numeracy qualification. You also need to be enthusiastic and committed to the programme of study with an interest in Creative Media.
Is this the right course for me?
If you seek to progress your education in creative media, photography or graphics in the future at level 3 then this course will offer you the widest options of skill development for a successful foundation for your future.
Progression route / what jobs can it lead to?
You can progress to Level Creative Media with either Animation, Video Production and Photography here at CBC. If successful at Level 2 you may wish to progress to one of our Level 3 courses in Creative Media, Graphic Design, Photography or Animation
Are there any additional costs?
There are trips that will benefit your study experience. Students often choose to enhance their production work with additional props and costumes. Your own camera or iphone is also very useful to have.
