There are no entry requirements.
The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Nail Treatments (QCF) is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills in how to provide manicure and pedicure treatments.
To further enhance your practical skills you will have the opportunity to choose from the following practical units: how to provide nail art; how to provide and maintain nail enhancements; display retail stock to promote sales in a salon; how to work with others in a salon.
Underpinning this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety practices in a salon environment, and client care and communication in beauty related industries. You will also develop an underpinning knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned throughout this qualification.
The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in beauty therapy to a high level of occupational ability, to enable you to perform your own salon services.
Who is the course suitable for?
This course is suitable for anyone who has an interest in the nail industry.
The course will consist of the following units: Client care and communication in beauty related industries Health and Safety Provide manicure treatments Provide pedicure treatments
Development of Maths and English
Maths and English will be embedded into each lesson to develop your skills.
Employability Skills Development
You will be provided with information on the latest trends and developments in the industry. And employability skills will be embedded within the course while working within a realistic working environment.

You will be taught by highly qualified and experienced Beauty Therapy professionals who will use a wide variety of teaching methods to help you to complete the course.
How will I know how well I am doing?
Every student has a personal tutor who will meet with their tutees on a regular basis to ensure they are making good progress. Tutors make sure that you receive regular feedback, manage your workload and meet college expectations.
Are there any additional costs?
Coming to college is a full time commitment and you will need to ensure that you have factored in the cost of travelling to college and potentially to a local work placement. We do recommend a few good resources that you can choose to purchase if you wish. We may request contributions are made to trips and outings.

How do I join the course?
Fill in an application form and you will be invited for a presentation and interview with one of the tutors.
If you are aged 19 or over on the 31st August of the year you begin your course or if you are actively seeking employment and can provide evidence that youre in receipt of a state benefit e.g. job seekers, housing benefit- this course may be free!
