LEVEL 3 beauty therapy
The VTCT Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Beauty Therapy (QCF) is a vocationally related qualification that will prepare you to gain employment as an advanced senior beauty therapist, as the units contained in this qualification cover all the skills and knowledge required for this role. Entry on to this qualification can be via previous attainment of a beauty therapy qualification at level 3.
This is a vocational qualification which builds on beauty therapy skills to allow you to develop an enhanced repertoire of advanced specialist beauty therapy techniques to prepare you for employment as an advanced senior beauty therapist. The advanced techniques covered in the mandatory section of this qualification include: laser and light treatments for hair removal, laser and light treatments for skin rejuvenation, microdermabrasion techniques. You will also gain knowledge and understanding of dermatology and microbiology, physiology of ageing, management of health, safety and security in the salon, quality management of client care and salon management. You will also have the opportunity to further develop your knowledge and skills by selecting from a range of optional units, including: research, IT and data handling, marketing, cultural social and technological influences on beauty-related industries, public relations in the hair and beauty sector.

Development of Maths and English
Students who have not yet achieved at least a C grade in English and Maths will have to continue taking these subjects up to the age of 18, as per government requirements.
At Central Bedfordshire College Students who have a D in GCSE Maths and English will be required to retake these GCSE subjects in order to obtain at least a C grade at GCSE level.
Employability Skills Development
All students will be required to attend work experience in an external environment once a week and attend SOME Saturday sessions in college for work based learning sessions
How will the course be taught?
You will be taught by highly qualified and experienced Beauty Therapy professionals who will use a wide variety of teaching methods to help you to learn and progress practically and theoretically through continual assessment and work experience.
How will I know how well I am doing?
Every student has a personal tutor who will meet with their tutees on a regular basis to ensure they are making good progress. Tutors make sure that you receive regular feedback, manage your workload and meet college expectations. Your work will be tracked using ProMonitor which you will also be able to monitor.
Are there any additional costs?
Coming to college is a full time commitment and you will need to ensure that you have factored in the cost of travelling to college and potentially to a local work placement.
You will need to purchase the course tunic and we strongly recommend that you purchase the you will only become proficient through practice and this will enable you to practice at home. We may also request contributions to trips and outings such as Professional Beauty 2015 at London Excel.

Fill in an application form and you will be invited for a presentation and interview with one of the tutors.
