Level 3 Beauty Therapy
The Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments (QCF) is an advanced qualification that has been specifically designed for beauty therapists.
This qualification is based on beauty therapy National Occupational Standards (NOS). This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications.
Entry onto this qualification can be via previous attainment of a Level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline prior to undertaking this qualification. Your centre will have ensured that you have the required knowledge, understanding and skills to enrol and successfully achieve this qualification.
Who is the course suitable for?
This qualification is the only Level 4 qualification offered by VTCT in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments (QCF). The Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments (QCF) is a vocationally related qualification and is focused on reducing hair growth and photo rejuvenation of the skin using intense pulse light and laser treatments. This qualification requires you to develop skills to carry out IPL and laser treatments. This qualification allows you to gather evidence in a realistic working environment or real working environment without the need for fee paying clients.

Development of Maths and English
Maths and English will be embedded into each lesson to develop your skills.
Employability Skills Development
You will be provided with information on the latest trends and developments in the industry. And employability skills will be embedded within the course while working within a realistic working environment.
How will the course be taught?
You will be taught by highly qualified and experienced professionals who will use a wide variety of teaching methods to help you to learn and progress through the course, including demonstrations, discussions, coaching, group work and practical activities.
Assessment techniques will include observed work, witness statements, written questions, oral questions, and assignments.
How will I know how well I am doing?
Every student has a personal tutor who will meet with their tutees on a regular basis to ensure they are making good progress. Tutors make sure that you receive regular feedback, manage your workload and meet college expectations.
Are there any additional costs?
Coming to college is a full time commitment and you will need to ensure that you have factored in the cost of travelling to college and potentially to a local work placement. We do recommend a few good resources that you can choose to purchase if you wish. We may request contributions are made to trips and outings. You will be required to wear a uniform

How do I join the course?
Fill in an application form and you will be invited for a presentation and interview with one of the tutors.
If you are aged 19 or over on the 31st August of the year you begin your course or if you are actively seeking employment and can provide evidence that youre in receipt of a state benefit e.g. job seekers, housing benefit- this course may be free!
