Who is the course suitable for?
This course is suitable for adults (19 and over) who wish to develop their study and employability skills in the area of Science. You may wish to study out of general interest in science or you may need the qualification so that you can move on to a career in teaching or in healthcare or you may simply wish to develop your own interest in scientific issues from the environment to forensics to cosmology.
Units in Biology, Chemistry and Physics and practical laboratory skills. You will be assessed through examinations at the end of the course, and, in your practical work, by observation of practical experiments.

Employability Skills Development
Every aspect of the course prepares you for further study or employment from working safely in the lab to making detailed records of your observations during practicals.
How will the course be taught?
You will be taught by highly qualified and teachers who will use a wide variety of teaching methods to help you to learn and progress to the next level, including demonstrations and lab practicals. You will have as much individual support as you need and there will be regular reviews to make sure that you are coping well with the level and workload of the course.
How will I know how well I am doing?
Your tutor will discuss your work with you on a regular basis to ensure that you are making good progress. Tutors make sure that you receive regular feedback, manage your workload and meet the requirements of the course
Are there any additional costs?
Resources are published on line and so there are very few additional costs. We may ask for a contribution to the costs of a trip in the spring term.
What course can I do next?
You can progress to Access to Science or the GCSE may qualify you, alongside Level 3 qualifications, for degree study in teaching or healthcare.

How do I join the course?
Fill in an application form online and you will be invited for a face to face or phone interview and information session with one of the tutors.
The course fee is £362. However, if you are unemployed or in receipt of certain benefits, the course may be free. The fee can be paid in instalments. We will discuss the fee with you at interview.
