Course Overview

The course provides an in-depth understanding from a range of disciplines under the sports umbrella with a strong emphasis on the human body. You will learn about the key components that relate to the scientific principles of sport that are inclusive of anatomy and physiology, sports and exercise psychology and field based fitness tests. These principles are studied so that you gain an underpinning knowledge regarding the practical aspects of sports and exercise, including training, fitness assessment and elite level performance. The course as a whole aims to be holistic and provides you with the opportunity to learn from a range of disciplines from sports coaching, personal training and nutrition.

This course is the Subsidiary Diploma, upon completing this one year course you have the option of progressing onto the second year course in order to achieve either a Diploma or Extended Diploma in Sport.

Your assessments throughout this course will continuously monitor your progress; these could include practicals, research tasks or presentations.

Your Tutor will be on hand to support you throughout your course to develop your skills, prepare you for your next steps and help you to achieve your goals.

What options are there after completing this course?

Upon completing your course, you have a great range of options available to help you continue your adventure. • This course is the Subsidiary Diploma, upon completing this one year course you have the option of progressing onto the second year course in order to achieve either a Diploma or Extended Diploma in Sport. • An apprenticeship in personal training or coaching. • Upon completion of a Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma you will be able to progress to a Higher Education course including the Level 4 HNC in Sport or to University. • Employment • Want to know more?
