Do you want to have an active, invigorating career in sport? Whether you want to be a personal trainer, physiotherapist, sports scientist or professional athlete, a course at CBC can get you off to a great start.
The course provides a basic understanding from a range of disciplines under the sports umbrella with a strong emphasis on teamwork and nutrition. This course has a particular focus on Football and have the benefit of being taught by a UEAFA Qualified Coach. Whilst studying this course, football training will take place at the excellent Creasy Park Facility. The course as a whole aims to be holistic and provides you with the opportunity to learn from a range of disciplines from sports coaching, personal training and nutrition.
Your areas of study will include: How the body works Taking Part in Sport, Exercise and Fitness Planning your own Fitness Program Planning and Leading a Sports Activity Safe Learning in the Workplace Job Opportunities/Working in Sport and Active Leisure Carrying out an Individual Project/Working in a Team
Your assessments throughout this course will continuously monitor your progress; these could include practicals, research tasks or presentations.
Your Tutor will be on hand to support you throughout your course to develop your skills, prepare you for your next steps and help you to achieve your goals.

Personal Professional Development sessions (PPD) will teach you valuable skills that employers are looking for including communication, time management and life skills that you can take with you anywhere you go!
You will have a regular 1:1 appointment with highly qualified and experienced professionals who will help you to manage your workload, give you valuable feedback and ensure that you meet College expectations.
English & Maths: You may not be sure whether these subjects are relevant to you, but good English and Maths skills will be vital to any career path and were here to support you in developing yours.
Work Experience is crucial to preparing you for your next steps and here you will have access to a wide range of employers to make sure you gain plenty of workplace experience. Careers Advice & Guidance is available throughout your time at CBC from our friendly, dedicated Advisors. They can provide you with a wide range of support including CV writing, UCAS applications, interview skills and much more. Guest Speakers from, and visits to, a range of different public services.

Coming to College is a full time commitment and you will need to ensure that you have factored in the cost of travelling to College. If you are concerned about this, please click here to see what financial support is available through our Student Services team. We may request contributions are made to trips and outings. You will be required to purchase the CBC Sport Kit, which will be discussed with you at interview.
