The course is aimed at Level 2 and basic level of programming knowledge will be a distinct advantage, a good level of English and IT literacy skills are essential as the programming language is case and spelling sensitive.
The course is designed by the Programming Tutor and will develop your skills from a basic introduction through to being able to create your first Mobile Application.
The course runs over 10 weeks and costs £150 and it is expected that students will complete the necessary reading each week.

This course prepares you with skills and knowledge in a variety of topics that will prepare you to create a basic Android Application.
The modules you will study are:
- Installing and configuring Software development kits, for at home learning.
- XML Programming.
- Java Programming.
- Basic systems analysis.
- Creating buttons and images
Development of Maths and English
Maths and English skills will be developed throughout the programme.
Employability Skills Development
You will develop skills necessary for working in the IT sector with programming and methodologys.
How will the course be taught?
You will be taught by certified IT professional who will use a wide variety of teaching methods to help you to learn and progress to the next level.
Lectures, discussions, independent research and video tutorials are assigned with this course.
How will I know how well I am doing?
You will have regular feedback from the Android programming Instructor regarding your progress and what you need to do to succeed in your studies.

All tools and equipment needed to complete the course are supplied by the College or are open source, the tutor is happy to offer advice for students on selecting suitable resources.

After completing the Android Application Development you can progress to higher level programmes to continue the development of your programming skills that could include:
