Daily Programme / Training

The training aspect of the Football Development Programme is designed to enable students to gain a more in-depth understanding of football and fitness as a whole. This includes learning new skills, honing their current skill sets, learning about the importance of fitness conditioning, and understanding the importance of pre and post match massage sessions.

The practical coaching sessions are held on one of our four outdoor pitches or one of the two seven-a-side outdoor pitches. The sessions are planned and lead by the Head Coach and focus on aspects of the game including individual techniques, phases of play, small sided games and eleven vs. eleven games.
Home games are recorded by students from our Media department and are returned to the Head Coach on the Friday, the players are then invited in to review the game and their performance. This can be done individually, as a group e.g. back four, or the whole team / squad.
The team travels to games in one of the Central Bedfordshire College mini-buses, and all drivers are fully insured to drive students to matches.
