Why choose Central Bedfordshire College?
You want your child to enjoy their time at College and progress on to a great career – so do we! Our priority is to do a great job of teaching and supporting our students to become mature and successful adults.
But don’t take our word for it – our teaching has been awarded a silver TEF award. As a parent you can be assured of commitment and consistency from us in all that we do.
What we ask of you
We know that one thing that helps students achieve success is a supportive environment so we ask that all Parents and Carers adhere to a simple code of conduct which will be shared with you when your child starts their course with us.
What you can expect of us in return
Excellent teaching
See what our students have to say – they really are our best advert! Our tutors are highly qualified professionals who have industry experience in their field, providing a high standard of teaching alongside real firsthand knowledge of the workplace.
Great choice of courses
Take a look at all our courses here. We have added new levels, giving each young person their own pathway to a better future, with 96% of our students going into relevant employment or study after their time with us.
Based on our track record of success the government has provided £1.5 million of additional funding to meet the needs of local communities, therefore we have added more course opportunities to our already broad portfolio – you may find something to suit you too!
A supportive environment
Our Student Services team won a TES FE Award in 2018 for their hard work in providing a comfortable place for students to grow and learn.
We have special policies in place to ensure students are safe, free from discrimination or bullying and able to seek help or support while at college.
We also provide a comprehensive learning support programme for those with additional needs.
Superb facilities
Our excellent new facilities represent a £15.5 million investment in classrooms, salons, kitchens, studios, workshops and technology which help students gain great practical skills and technical knowledge preparing them well for employment.
This all adds up to the perfect learning environment for your child.
No barriers – financial support for learning
Young people aged 16-18 do not have to pay tuition fees for their course. We also offer help with the cost of coming to College for families on lower incomes and the 19+ Advanced Learner Loan can help cover costs for older students.
See for yourself
Come and visit us to see for yourself the place where success comes to life. There are opportunities to visit coming up soon and most visitors are so impressed with our people and our college they apply for a course before they leave the building!
