WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO DO AN APPRENTICESHIP?

I felt I’d rather gain knowledge through working as an IT Support Engineer on the job, whilst training with CBC. University didn’t really appeal to me – I was always more interested in the apprenticeship route.

WHAT WAS YOUR PROUDEST ACHIEVEMENT AS AN APPRENTICE AT CBC?

When I became the Asset Manager of all of the assets within the college – I was trusted to carry this task out.

HOW ABOUT THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE YOU’VE FACED?

Having to learn how to do network cabling and patch management from scratch, as prior to CBC I had never run cabling, tested networks or patched in networks before.

WHAT HAS YOUR APPRENTICESHIP LED TO?

New opportunities within the workplace. I’ve been training further with IT Certifications to help improve my knowledge – I’m very happy to have this opportunity.

IF YOU COULD GO BACK AND GIVE YOURSELF SOME ADVICE WHEN YOU STARTED AT CBC, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

To make sure that you take as much photographic evidence on the job as possible for your folder! The more evidence the better!

WHAT’S YOUR TOP TIP FOR APPRENTICESHIP SUCCESS?

Always be willing to learn new things about your role, even once your apprenticeship is complete.
