CAVA Access to HE Diploma in Science. Are you a mature student looking for a career in Nursing and Allied Professionals? This is just one of the routes available to you when you enrol on the CAVA Access to HE Diploma in Science at CBC. Other opportunities include speech and language, psychology, Adult Nursing, Child Nursing, Midwifery, mental health nursing, Operating Department practitioner, occupational therapy, Physiotherapy and Social work. The course is perfect if you want to retrain for a new career that requires university study. You will learn alongside other like-minded mature students and have lots of support from our experienced lecturers. Please note the College course title is a suggested progression route, you must check with your preferred higher education institution to ensure that this course meets their entry requirements. Upon successful completion of the course you will be awarded an Access to Higher Education Diploma (Science).

All learning is done within timetabled hours assessments maybe completed within timetabled hours but some may need to be completed in students own time.

There are no work placements on the Access to HE course, however, when applying to university through UCAS degree courses like you to have some vocational experience within a health care setting.

What are the expected employment sectors for this course?

The Access to Nursing course leads to university to gain a degree in a health care environment. Some universities will also accept the Access to Nursing course for a non-healthcare related degree such as Social work, as it gives students the skills to study for HE level degrees.
