Usually, four GCSEs 9-1 or A-G. However, you will need strong enough skills in English and Mathematics to enable you to cope with the demands of the course. We recommend GCSE Grade 4, C or equivalent, such as Functional Skills Level 2, in English and Mathematics. If you do not meet these entry requirements, please ask about our Level 1 programmes.

Accountancy is a highly-skilled and highly-disciplined field, which is why good Accountants remain in demand across the UK. Course Overview

The AAT Certificate is a Level 2 programme designed to develop sound basic skills in finance and accounting which can be used at work. Students can use their knowledge and skills in accounting and finance in Accounting Departments or in any other work setting that involves dealing with financial matters. AAT courses give students the skills as well as the qualification they need to take their study further. The courses are designed to build confidence and personal development and to enable learners to work independently and successfully in order to move to the next Level. AAT is a national suite of qualifications recognised by employers across the country. AAT students are valued for their determination and independent study skills.

Your areas of study will include: • Using accounting software • Bookkeeping transactions • Bookkeeping controls • Elements of costing • Ethical business practice • Understanding job roles in finance and accounting

The Units are assessed through online exams. You will work through assessments regularly so that you and your teacher can check your progress and go over any topics you are finding difficult. There will be practice exams before you sit the final examinations themselves.

Your Tutor will be on hand to support you throughout your course to develop your skills, prepare you for your next steps and help you to achieve your goals.

Upon completing your course, you have a great range of options available to help you continue your adventure. • You can progress to the Level 3 AAT Diploma once you have completed Level 2. Coming to College is a full time commitment and you will need to ensure that you have factored in the cost of travelling to College and potentially to a local work placement. This is a demanding course and you will have to make sure that you have time each week to do a substantial amount of preparation and practice. The course runs 9.00 Ð 4.30 on Mondays.

You will need basic stationery, and a good USB stick and a good calculator are useful. We have an excellent LRC and good IT facilities at college. Your registration with AAT gives you access to the materials youÕll need to study and revise.

This course is also available part-time with an evening and day-time option.
