Course Overview

The Level 2 in Creative Media acts as an introduction to a wide range of roles and opportunities for study in more specialist fields. We cover both the technical and creative aspects of media production. This wide scope course allows you to develop skills and techniques in different fields within media including video production, digital imaging, sound recording and editing as well as creative writing and print design. Your assessments throughout this course will keep you on track to achieve and through completion of both individual and group projects, you will build a portfolio of work. Your year culminates in your Final Major Project which sees you specialising in an area of your choosing.

Your Tutor will be on hand to support you throughout your course to develop your skills, prepare you for your next steps and help you to achieve your goals.

Your Study Programme includes valuable additions to help you succeed! Personal Professional Development sessions (PPD) will teach you valuable skills that employers are looking for including communication, time management and life skills that you can take with you anywhere you go! You will have a regular 1:1 appointment with highly qualified and experienced professionals who will help you to manage your workload, give you valuable feedback and ensure that you meet College expectations. English & Maths: You may not be sure whether these subjects are relevant to you, but good English and Maths skills will be vital to any career path and we¿re here to support you in developing yours.
Work Experience, workbased learning and enrichment opportunities are all crucial to preparing you for your next steps and here you will have access to a wide range of opportunities to make sure you gain plenty of experience outside of the classroom. Careers Advice & Guidance is available throughout your time at CBC from our friendly, dedicated Advisors. They can provide you with a wide range of support including CV writing, UCAS applications, interview skills and much more.

What options are there after completing this course?

Upon completing your course, you have a great range of options available to help you continue your adventure. You may choose to continue your studies into a variety of different creative courses at Level 3 including Creative Media, Photography, Graphic Design or Animation. There are trips that will benefit your study experience and we endevour to keep these as cost effective as possible. Students often choose to enhance their production work with additional props or costumes. Your own camera is also very useful to have but if you do not have one, don't worry you will be taught how to use ours.
