COURSE OVERVIEW
The Level 2 Certificate in Nail Technology is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills in providing and maintaining nail enhancements using liquid and powder nail systems. This qualification includes all the required elements to work effectively as a nail technician including: health and safety, client care and communication, manicure treatments, nail art and providing and maintaining nail enhancements.
You will also complete the VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention (COVID-19) for Beauty Therapy & Nail Services (UIP2) as part of your Level 2 Certificate in Nail Technology.
This is a pre-requirement for Level 2 courses, set by the awarding body. This is completed alongside your nail qualification and will be certificated separately upon completion of your VTCT course. If you have already completed this award as part of previous qualification(s) with us or elsewhere, you will not need to repeat this award.
Much of the qualification is completed as home-study, including theory learning and coursework making this an ideal route for those who wish to study flexibly around other commitments. Students are required to attend weekly classes (Tuesday 6-9pm) to learn and complete the practical elements of the course.
Each unit consists of a written assignment, online exam and a number of practical assessments. A computer and internet access are recommended to access learning, materials and submit work- this is also available in our on-site Learning Resource Centre. A kit list will be provided at enrolment and needs to be purchased prior to the course starting. No uniform is required but smart black clothing should be worn and an apron is recommended.
