ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Teaching strategies include group work, quizzes, practical work, written assessments, case studies, presentations, etc. offering you the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding.

In the first year you will study units such as: Principles of Computer Science, Fundamentals of Computer Systems, IT Systems Security and Encryption, Computer Games Development, and Website Development.

On successful completion of your first year, you will have the opportunity to continue your studies and move into the second year to study additional units and achieve your qualification.

When completed, you will achieve a Level 3 Pearson BTEC National Extended Diploma in Computing, and any other qualifications studied. You could compete after 1 year gaining a BTEC Foundation Diploma in Computing.

ASSESSMENT

This course takes a unit-by-unit approach and offers a combination of assessment styles. It includes internally assessed assignments, externally assessed tasks, and externally assessed written exams. This gives you the opportunity to showcase your skills and apply your knowledge in an appropriate, work-related context.
