Course content
If you like cars and mechanics and want to pursue a career in the Motor Vehicle industry, here you can learn in our garage working on real cars. You will gain the technical skills and experience you need to succeed in a fast-growing industry as a motor mechanic.

This course is delivered at our Luton Road Campus
How will I learn?
Through realistic practical sessions and theory-based work
How will I be assessed?
You will be observed carrying out practical tasks, through written assignments and online/written exams
Equipment and other costs
You will need to provide your own safety boots and work trousers/overalls, A4 Lever arch file, dividers and plastic wallets.
What additional work outside of college will I need to do?
You will be required to complete work outside of the classroom and study independently
What have students who have taken this course in the past progressed onto?
Progression onto Level 3 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance, employment or an Apprenticeship in a related field.
What are the expected employment sectors for this course?
You could progress into employment in roles including Tyre Technician, Fast Fit Technician, Light Vehicle Service Technician and Intermediate Apprentice.
