Level 2 sport provides a continuation and progression on from level 1 sport, or from any previous sports courses which may have been completed at school. How will I learn?

Over the course of the year students will cover topics which will help with transferable skills as well as specific sports-based learning. These units are as followed: psychology for sports performance, sports coaching, planning and running a sports event, developing personal fitness, participating in sport, exercise and nutrition and anatomy and physiology.

How will I be assessed?

At level 2 sport, we try to assess students in a number of different ways to help build up skills and confidence in each selected method, this can include; powerpoint presentations, posters, assignments, practical (with observations) among others.

What additional work outside of college will I need to do?

You will need to complete work experience throughout the year, some of these opportunities may be on a day that you are not timetabled to be here. It is also expected students will complete their assignments at home.

Do I need to find a work placement? Do I need a DBS?

At level 2 you are not required to find a work placement or DBS.

The majority of student have progressed onto level 3 sport or the personal training course, others have gone to apprenticeships or employment.
