Is this course right for me?

If you are teaching or training adults (16+) or planning to teach or train, the City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Education and Training is the right course for you. The course is an introduction to teaching and training and can be undertaken by people who are already teaching or are not in a teaching role yet.

Course Overview

The course focuses on the foundations for teaching and training:

  • the roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer in relation to legislation, equality, diversity, inclusivity and meeting the needs of learners
  • sequencing learning, planning and delivering sessions, using appropriate resources and teaching methods
  • identifying the characteristics of effective assessment and feedback You will learn through a variety of different methods including... …workshops, seminars, and tutorials …teaching your peers and observing them when they teach …reflecting on your teaching experiences and evaluating them

Your assessments include written assignments, teaching materials, factsheets, reflective statements, presentations or a lesson plan. All assessments reflect real life activities teachers or trainers have to undertake.
