  • Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs about studying with us from September 2020
With everything that’s happening around us, we know you’ll have questions and concerns about what will happen if you've applied or what you should do if you haven't.

So we’ve put together this FAQ section to answer some of the most common and important questions around applying, enrolment, cancellation of GCSE exams this summer and what happens next, and more.

If you’re question isn’t on here, just ask one of our expert teams and they’ll get back to you promptly.

    1. I haven't applied for any courses yet, what shall I do?
If you haven't applied for a course yet, or are considering your options then we're advising that you find your preferred course at the preferred level and apply as soon as possible. We'll be automatically awarded a conditional offer using your predicted grades. If you're unsure of the course you want to apply for then speak to one of our Careers Advisors who are on hand to help!

You can apply in three simple steps:

    i. Find your preferred course
    ii. Apply in 15 minutes
    iii. Enrol after your results

    2. I've already applied for the course I want to study, what shall I do?
If you've already applied, then welcome! We've paused all of our interviews and are awarding applicants a conditional offer based on their predicted grades. We'll be in touch to arrange your enrolment closer to the time.

    3. What about my GCSEs and how will they be awarded?
We're sure that you're schools are keeping you up to date on how this will happen but following the government guidelines, we've answered some key questions below.

    • How will my grades be calculated?
      • You'll receive a calculated grade. The calculated grade process will take into account a range of evidence including, for example, non-exam assessment and mock results, and the approach will be standardised between schools and colleges.
    • Will I get my predicted grades?
      • No. Using predicted grades would not be fair to all students. The ‘centre assessment grade’ (what you'll be awarded) will take into account the likely grade that you would have obtained had exams gone ahead.
    • Will my mock exam results be used?
      • Yes, but that isn't the final result. Mock exam results will be one of the pieces of evidence that will be taken into account in this process, alongside other factors.
    • When will I get my results?
      • GCSE results on 20 August, as originally planned.
